Valeria Niemackl, better known as Lera (b. 1993) is an interdisciplinary researcher and artist working with biology and multimedia arts. 

Under the pseudonym Amorphous Androgynous, she explores the emotional and ontological development brought on by engineered life. Projects range from story-telling installations to essays to experiments in the lab. Lera often works through collaborations.

She is currently at an early-stage biotechnology company called the Los Angeles Project where she works alongside skilled scientists on animal genetic engineering. In between work and making artworks, Lera plays the cello.
